ORPIB Presents the Inaugural Rainbow Expo

Portland Queer Marketplace and Business Hub

September 25 + 26, 2026 at Social Good Place

4511 SE Main Street, Portland, OR, 97215

Celebrate the strength, creativity, and resilience of our community

This is a queer business showcase: a space to drive your sales, make connections that fuel business growth, and discover community resources for us all.

About Social Good Place

A Venue that Shares Our Values

Social Good Place is a creative hub for nonprofits, startups, and mission-driven organizations in Portland's Sunnyside neighborhood, offering affordable access to co-working, fiscal sponsorship, and community event space.

Rainbow Expo Location is a major asset.

Social Good Place sits steps from SE Hawthorne Boulevard and SE Belmont Street, two of Portland's most walkable and active commercial corridors, lined with independent shops and restaurants. For a free-admission public marketplace, that built-in neighborhood foot traffic means more eyes on every exhibitor and sponsor in the building.

The venue itself is a renovated church featuring a small auditorium, kitchen, gathering hall, and flexible workspaces. The Big Gay Marketplace will be located in a 40’x50’ tent in the parking lot outside. We are applying for permits to use the street for additional space as well.

Two days. Multiple spaces. Infinite impact.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Portions of the venue are ADA-accessible. Please note that the indoor area has wheelchair access via chairlift only, which has limitations. We're partnering with Relay Resources to support accessibility needs and are committed to reducing barriers wherever possible. For specific accessibility questions or needs, please contact us at showcase@orpib.com.

  •  Yes, we'll have a quiet room available for attendees who need a sensory break or decompression space. This will be an unhosted space available throughout the event.

  • Expo attendees and exhibitors are not required to wear masks, but are welcome to do so based on personal preference.

  • Yes, there will be an outdoor seating area near the food court, and indoor seating through the business lounge. We're designing the event flow to include decompression options to reduce sensory overload where possible.

  • This is a curated marketplace prioritizing queer-owned businesses. We welcome applications from LGBTQIA2S+ businesses of all sizes—from established companies to newer ventures still "leveling up." Ally-owned businesses that provide clear benefits to the LGBTQ+ community may be considered for available spots after queer-owned businesses are accommodated.

  •  Applications are accepted through our interest form at https://forms.gle/GMf9Zx8S1PS4Dpoz7. This is a curated application-based process (not first-come-first-served) to ensure we create a balanced, diverse marketplace and protect access for small and new businesses.

  •  We offer multiple ways to participate:

    • Full Table (Marketplace Exhibitor): 6–8 ft table footprint for product-based businesses that want to sell on-site

    • Half Table or Mini-Booth: Smaller footprint at a lower cost, perfect for newer businesses, artists, or service providers.

    • Networking-Focus Participant: No booth required—access to the Business Resource Lounge, connection tools, directory listing, and visibility without needing a full table setup

  • Early Bird Pricing (through May 15):

    • Full Table: $25 (members)

    • Half Table or High Top: $15 (members)

    • Networking Only: $5

    • Non-members: Join ORPIB to access early bird pricing

    Regular Pricing (May 16–June 1):

    • Full Table: $50 (members) / $60 (non-members)

    • Half Table or High Top: $25 (members) / $30 (non-members)

    • Networking Only: $5 (members) / $10 (non-members)

  • Yes! We're offering 6–10 sponsored mini-booths to ensure equitable participation for resource-constrained businesses. Information about applying for sponsored access will be available in the application.

  • Yes! Marketplace exhibitors can sell on-site using their own payment systems (Square, cash, etc.). This applies to both physical products and on-site services like food.

  • Food-based businesses may sell on-site if venue, permit, and safety requirements are met. Alcohol vendors must carry their own insurance and are responsible for ID checks.

  • Details about table sizes, electricity access, and other logistics will be finalized and communicated to accepted exhibitors. We're committed to making participation low-friction with clear requirements and support.

  • The application window is open now through June 30, 2026. We encourage early applications, especially to take advantage of early bird pricing.

  • Friday, September 25, is dedicated to exhibitor setup followed by an "All Hands" networking event for exhibitors, sponsors, and volunteers. This is your chance to connect with other participants in a relaxed atmosphere with food, beverages, and intentional networking opportunities.

  • The Service Business Lounge is a dedicated space for networking, connection-building, and accessing LGBTQ+ community resources. It's serves as both a networking hub for business professionals and a resource center for community members looking to learn how to support queer businesses.

  • No! Our Networking-Focus Participant option is designed specifically for consultants, service providers, and B2B businesses that want to make connections without needing a sales table. You'll have access to all networking activities, visibility in our directory, and connection tools.

  • We're designing both structured and unstructured connection opportunities. Specific formats are still being finalized, but the goal is meaningful conversations that lead to real partnerships, referrals, and business relationships—not just collecting business cards.

  • Yes! We're planning to have food vendors as part of the marketplace. Exhibitors and attendees can purchase food on-site. We'll also provide water and snacks for exhibitors in a designated break area.

  • Limited alcohol will be available for purchase from vendors who meet insurance and permit requirements. Friday evening's exhibitor networking event will include alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options.

  • ORPIB will invite all non-profits included in the community resources hall to participate. If you would like to nominate an organization to participate, please email us showcase@orpib.com.

  • We offer multiple sponsorship levels, from Presenting Sponsor to Community Sponsor ($500). Sponsors support queer economic prosperity through tangible community impact like scholarships, accessibility supports, and hospitality. For information and our sponsor deck, visit orpib.com/2026-showcase or contact showcase@orpib.com.

  • Benefits vary by level but include brand visibility, alignment with LGBTQ+ economic empowerment, and measurable engagement with small businesses. Detailed packages are available in our sponsorship deck.

  •  We're actively recruiting volunteers for various roles including general event support, setup/teardown, and specialized positions. Complete the form above or contact showcase@orpib.com to express interest.

  • Opportunities range from pre-event admin assistance to general day-of event support to more specialized roles.

  • ORPIB is an organization supporting LGBTQIA2S+ economic prosperity through business networking, advocacy, and community building. The Rainbow Expo is our inaugural marketplace event, designed to create visibility and opportunity for queer businesses across Oregon and Southwest Washington.

  • Email showcase@orpib.com and we'll direct your message to the right person on our team.

  • Visit orpib.com/2026-showcase for the latest information, or follow ORPIB on social media for announcements and updates.

  • Year 1 of the Rainbow Expo focuses on the marketplace and networking experience. We're not planning heavy stage programming as a required component. If any sessions are added, they'll be optional, lightweight, and ideally community-submitted.

If we didn’t answer your question, email showcase@orpib.com and we’ll be in touch.
