Certified Spotlight: Madi B Educating, LLC

I think for me personally, getting certified made it feel like my business was *real*, and now has more potential for impact and visibility. It gave me the confidence to look at my side-hustle as something that could continue to grow, and provide me opportunities I may not have access to without certification.

Why did you become a certified LGBT Business Enterprise?

To be in community with other LGBTQ+ business owners, to network, collaborate, and utilize all of the benefits of being an LGBTBE certified business. It also just feels very fancy, and I like that!

What is LGBTBE® Certification?

LGBTBE® is a nationally-recognized certification for for-profit businesses that are majority owned and operated by a member of the LGBTQ+ Community. Like other “minority” certifications — woman-owned or veteran-owned, for example — the LGBTBE® certification can make a business eligible to win contracts with corporations and other entities which want to work intentionally with diverse suppliers.

Certification fees ($899 for initial certification) are completely free for ORPIB Members.
