ORPIB Endorses the Equal Rights for All Campaign

Oregon Pride in Business (ORPIB) believes each member of our Q+ community deserves the chance to thrive and is committed to advocacy that supports social justice. Therefore, the ORPIB Board of Directors has endorsed the Equal Rights for All campaign, which aims to qualify and pass a constitutional measure (IP 33) on the 2026 ballot.

IP 33 clarifies that laws, policies, and actions cannot discriminate, in intent or effect, based on: pregnancy/pregnancy outcomes and related health decisions; gender identity and related health decisions; sexual orientation, including the right to marry; or sex. IP 33 would also remove language from Oregon’s Constitution that was added by voters in 2004 saying marriage is between “one man and one woman.” The section was declared unconstitutional by a U.S. federal district court judge in 2014.

Adding these protections to Oregon’s Constitution will strengthen existing protections found in Oregon Revised Statutes (laws) by making them harder to remove by the federal government or by a future makeup of the state legislature.
